Turkish Sign Language Tutor App launch by ESK Students
During the assembly on the 13th of March, 2017 Kaan Ibrahim and I (Anar Kazimov) introduced the app called Turkish Sign Language Tutor (Türk İşaret Dili Öğretmeni). The aim of it is to improve the lives of deaf people living in Turkey and North Cyprus and you downloading the app will bring us one step closer to our goal.
Approximately one year was spent on the transformation of this idea from a spoken word to the fully functioning app. Now it is capable of teaching over 50 signs, including the ones that can help in emergency situations.
The main advantage of the program compared to the ones existing in the market is that it is not dependent on Wi-Fi. This means that no matter where you are (e.g. on public transport or in your basement) you can use it to pass the time while to learning some useful signs.
Currently, Turkish Sign Language Tutor is only available for android devices and can be downloaded here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.h1n.sgates.tsl_tutor&hl=en
Below are the names of people who have contributed to the development process:
Daniel Todd, Alp Orgun Mohammed Ben Musa, Kıymet Shevket, Berke Özoğul, Kerem Dumanoğlu, Kaan Ibrahim and my cousin Tasmin Angelina Houssein.
